NORTH HILLS (CBS) — Authorities are searching for the driver of a SUV who crashed the vehicle into a San Fernando Valley apartment building and fled.
The accident happened around 2:35 a.m. Thursday in the 15000 block of Parthenia Street.
Police say the driver lost control of a Dodge Durango and slammed into the building, damaging one unit.
“I was watching TV and I hear the tires screech and I hear a crash and the building shook,” said Ivan Tellez, a resident in the building.
The driver fled the scene on foot, leaving behind his passenger who suffered minor injuries.
A family of four was inside an apartment when the accident occurred. No one was hurt, however the family was displaced and is receiving aid from the American Red Cross, police said.
