STUDIO CITY (CBS) — The same weather features that we have been dealing with for the past few days remain in place.
We have a ridge of high pressure to the east and a small high pressure center focused over California. There is an area of low pressure to the south that is helping to surge that monsoonal moisture into our eastern areas. There will be some clouds streaming through the area and there is still the slight threat for a thunderstorm, but it doesn’t look ver threatening at this point.
Temperatures will be similar to Wednesday, however depending on the extent of marine layer this morning, we may warm a degree or two down town. There will be some areas of dense fog this morning, and that may reduce visibility in some spots. Otherwise look for sunshine with temperatures into the 90s for our valleys, near 100 in the desert, 80s in the basin and low 70s at the beach.
A larger upper level low moves into the west coast on Friday and Saturday, cooling our inland areas down a touch. However by Sunday, the high pressure in the middle of the country expands back to the west and we are expecting a pretty good warm up for Monday and Tuesday. The lower valleys could be close to 100.
Beaches – low 70s
Basin -low 80s
Valleys – mid to upper 90s
Deserts – near 100
Mountains -low to mid 70s
