ALHAMBRA (CBSLA.com) — An arraignment is scheduled Friday for Alonzo Bernard Johnson, a man charged with residential burglary and other crimes stemming from an alleged attack on a 79-year-old woman.
Johnson, 49, allegedly entered the woman’s South Pasadena home the morning of August 5, threatening her with a paring knife from her kitchen and beating her face.
The victim was hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery.
The attacker was arrested shortly after fleeing from the home with a handful of the victim’s jewelry.
Johnson was charged with one count each of residential burglary, residential robbery and kidnapping, according to authorities.
