Former Pop-up Restaurant Moves to Permanent Spot on Broadway

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - A former pop-up restaurant has found a permanent home in Downtown with a grand opening celebration scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight at 925 S. Broadway.

San Francisco native Ari Taymor, the chef and owner of Alma Restaurant, first found success with pop-up restaurants in Silverlake and Venice. He soft-opened Alma on Broadway in July with a menu that includes dishes like smoked duck with melon and suckling pig with eggplant.

Patina-alum Derrick de Jesus will be the chef de cuisine changing up the menu frequently. The restaurant will also offer a tasting menu and homemade sodas. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the Aug. 15 public event.
