LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Cooling centers are available in the Southland to help residents cope with the excessive heat.
Officials issued a heat advisory Monday warning residents to stay cool and hydrated.
100-degree weather was forecast for areas in the San Fernando, San Gabriel, Santa Clarita, and Antelope valleys through Friday.
Health experts are recommending residents to wear light, loose-fitting clothing, drink plenty of water or electrolyte-replacing sports drinks, and stay indoors with air-conditioning on.
Residents who are unable to access cool indoors are urged to visit public facilities or local cooling centers.
