Aguanga Fire Now 15 Percent Contained

SAGE (CBS) — A fire that destroyed 3,000 acres, one home and at least three other structures is 15 percent contained as of Wednesday morning, officials said.

The fire was first reported around 1 p.m. Tuesday in the community of Aguana, a sparsely populated area near the border of Riverside and San Diego counties.

Approximately 400 fire fighters are battling the fire which has forced the evacuation of 32 homes.

An evacuation center has been opened by the American Red Cross at the Temecula Community Recreation Center, 30875 Rancho Vista Road.

Riverside Emergency Animal Rescue System is helping evacuate animals, large and small. They are being sheltered at 581 South Grand Avenue in San Jacinto.

Three people have been injured in the fire, officials said.
