2 Fatally Shot At Tire Store In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Two gunmen walked into a tire store Thursday, said nothing and opened fire, killing two people, police reported.

Police credited a good Samaritan, who followed the gunmen in their car, with leading them to the suspects.

At 10 a.m., the two gunmen walked into JMC Tires, located at 207 East Baseline Street, wearing masks and toting handguns, Lt. Paul Williams said.

Without a word, police said the two men opened fire.

They allegedly killed an employee and a customer. The names of the victims were not released.

The suspects then fled in a silver car.

“A great anonymous citizen followed that vehicle and let us know where it was at…,” Williams said.

Police caught up to the suspects’ vehicle soon after, parked within a mile of tire store.

Officers said they found evidence in the vehicle that tied the men to the crime.

Investigators said they arrested three people. They said they don’t know the motive for the crime.
