Eric McCormack Tells 'Conan' He Gets Irratated By People Tweeting About 'Will & Grace' During 'Perception'

Eric McCormack is challenging himself on his new role, as well as apparently challenging some of his long-time fans. He went on "Conan" (Weeknights, 11 p.m. ET on TBS) where he revealed that he likes to live-Tweet during the broadcasts of his new show "Perception."

In the show, McCormack plays Dr. Pierce, a brilliant professor who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. The dramatic procedural couldn't be more different from "Will & Grace," and his character couldn't be further removed from the uptight Will Truman.

And yet, McCormack said that fans still aren't really connecting with Dr. Pierce. "Right at the climax of the episode, someone will Tweet, ‘God, I miss ‘Will & Grace.’" he said.

He wants to yell at them, "Are you watching the show?"

"Will & Grace" was on the air producing new episodes as recently as 2006, and after eight seasons playing Will Truman, many fans are going to have a hard time seeing him as someone else. Ask so many other actors who still get associated with their most iconic roles decades after the fact.

"Perception" airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on TNT. "Conan" is on every weeknight at 11 p.m. ET on TBS.
