NEW YORK (CBS) – Pinch-Hitter Matt Treanor’s two out single in the top of the 12th inning broke open a 3-3 game as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Mets 8-3 to complete a weekend sweep on Sunday.
Josh Wall picked up the win, after pitching a scoreless 11th inning in his major league debut.
40 players appeared in the game, including CY Young award winner Clayton Kershaw, who was used as a pinch-hitter.
Javy Guerra, filling in for Kenley Jansen, who was given the day off, blew a save in the ninth inning when Ike Davis dribbled a grounder that scored Ruben Tejada to send the game to extra innings.
With the win, the Dodgers move within 1.5 games of the San Francisco Giants in the NL West, and have won four straight games.
The Dodgers will begin a four game series in St. Louis on Monday night.
