HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — A $50,000 reward is expected to be approved Tuesday by the Los Angeles City Council for information leading to a conviction in the murder of a man who’s severed head was found earlier this year in the Hollywood Hills.
A head in a plastic bag was discovered on January 17 by two women who were walking their dog near Canyon Drive.
Two hands and two feet were discovered the next day by trained cadaver dogs.
The Los Angeles Coroner’s office identified the body remains as those of Hervey Medellin Coronado, 66, a former Mexicana airlines employee.
A missing person’s report had been filed at the Hollywood Police Station a few days before.
In January, police searched a search warrant at his apartment building on DeLongpre Avenue in Hollywood and towed a silver Honda from the apartment complex.
No arrests have been made in this case so far.
